Hi! I’m Femke.

My work in a nutshell…?

…I live and breathe for making beautiful furniture.  I do this out of the conviction that an inspirational environment can make people transcend their everyday life. That a functional object can be a beautiful one.

This beauty includes something more than form & function. It includes a philosophy, or say a ‘code of conduct’.

In my case that philosophy begins with the use of resources. By using scarcity and limitations as tools for innovation. By using no more of nature’s recourses than necessary and re-using that recourses in a creative way. By combining materials and crafts. By practicing old & new techniques. By experimenting with lines & colours. By inventing clever details. By taking the time to create something new. And by designing a story or an idea, rather than an object.
